Seminar on Ghar Vapasi, Religious Liberty and Challenges in India

Under the auspices of various Commissions of Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council, a seminar on the topic “Ghar Vapasi, Religious liberty and free India” was conducted at POC on 24th of January 2015. The seminar was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Francis Kal l a r a c kal, Archbishop, Verapoly. Rev. Dr.Varghese Vallikkatt, Director,POC presided over. National Human Rights commission member Justice Syriac Joseph and PSC Chairman Dr. K.S. Radha krishnan led classes on topics “Religious liberty a human right: In the light of Indian Constitution” and “Religious conversion: Historical and cultural background and contemporary reality” respectively. The Panel discussion on topic “Ghar Vapasi and minority protection” was represented by Adv.P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, Dr. Sebastian Paul and Adv. Mayankutty Mather. KCBC Deputy Secretary General Rev.Fr. Varghese Vallikkatt, KCBC Dialogue and Ecumenism Commission Secretary Rev. Fr. Robin Kannanchira CMI, KCBC Laity Commission Secretary Adv. Antony Ambat, POC Dean of Studies Rev. Fr. Shibu Xavier OCD, KCBC Vigilance Commission Secretary Rev.Fr. Josy Ponnambal and KCC Secretary Mr. V.C. Georgekutty were steering the organization of the Seminar.
